Accountability Pillar Survey

All students in grades 4-6, and parents of grade 4 students, are asked by Alberta Education each year to complete the Accountability Pillar Survey.  The survey for parents will be mailed directly to your home.

The student survey will be completed with Mrs. Ashworth during technology time in February.  Each student will be given a random access log in code and will complete the survey at this website:

Moving Monday

Every Monday morning we start our week off with some awesome music and a chance to get our bodies moving.  When the music starts, everyone heads out of their classroom and dances their way to the gym.
Students: if you would like to suggest a Moving Monday song, please leave a comment on this post.

WE Day for Grade 6

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This year, the date selected for WE Day is November 1st, this is the same date that had previously been scheduled for our Calgary Catholic School District Faith Day. There is no school on this day, as district staff will be attending our annual faith formation event. Although the district will not be involved in WE Day this year, parents with students in grades 6-12 wishing to attend WE Day can register themselves independently of the school at the following link: http://bit.ly/2gPoFt6

Please note that neither the Calgary Catholic School District nor the school will be present at the event. Should you choose to take your child to this event, the responsibility for transportation, chaperoning, supervising, etc. will be solely upon you as the parent/guardian. You will have the full support of a WE Schools Program Manager leading up to WE Day, ensuring you have everything you need for this amazing youth event. For any questions contact christina.fraser@we.org  by email or phone at 604.875.8791 x244. To ensure availability, we recommend you register as soon as possible if you wish to attend. Further event detail are listed below.

Welcome to a New School Year

September, 2017

The new school year has arrived—we would like to welcome our new families and welcome back our returning families.  We are very excited about this upcoming school year.  Our school motto is Together, We Succeed, and we are looking forward to working together with you to support the success of your child.

Please take a few minutes to read over our school handbook located in the front of your child’s agenda.  This will help you to be familiar with the rules and expectations of our school, and also includes information you can use in working with your child.

Ongoing communication between the home and school is one of the factors that supports your child’s success.  If you have any questions or concerns about your child, please contact your child’s teacher by phone or you can also use your child’s agenda to send notes to your child’s teacher.  If you have other questions or concerns, please contact the school administration team by calling the school at 403-500-2054 or via email at lisa.ashworth@cssd.ab.ca or teresa.cusano@cssd.ab.ca.  You can also stay informed by reading our monthly newsletter, visiting our school website, visiting the classroom blogs (there are links on the school website), or following us on Twitter.

We believe that we have an outstanding school—however, we are always looking for ways to grow and improve.  Some of the areas we will be focusing on this year include communication, literacy, planning, and assessment.  Please watch for more information this year as we create our school plans over the coming months.  These will be shared at school council, on our website, and through the newsletter.

Our district faith theme this year is “Ask, and it shall be given to you”.  Through this theme we will be focusing on prayer, to help us not only to speak to God, but also to get to know him more.  Watch for different opportunities throughout the school year to help us share and develop our prayer life.

We believe that all students can succeed.  It is our sincere hope that all children in our school community feel safe, supported, and cared for, and that they all experience a successful and happy school year.

Wishing you all a wonderful school year!

Mrs. Ashworth
